According to a newspaper article published on the 7th February 2019, Police forces across the UK have been issuing a widespread “crackdown” on motorists that drive without insuring their vehicles. Thousands of motorists in the UK have had their cars seized by the police for driving them without valid insurance.
As stated in our previous blog about Uninsured Driving, it is also illegal for an insured driver to allow someone to drive their vehicle without insurance.
If a driver has been convicted of driving without valid insurance, the driver will receive an IN10 endorsement on their licence for four years. Because of this, the driver might find it difficult to get an insurance quote which has a low premium for five years after the conviction.
